Safiullah and Associates first and then Fugitives

Media reports say that the vengeful Hasina has set priority for the government to bring back the six fugitives of the “Mujib Murder Case” for immediate execution. She has for the job engaged the Indian Intelligence R &AW specialists and more significantly the MOSSAD or Israeli intelligence operatives at huge public cost from the treasury. In the mean time she had already spent huge sum in million through one of her ministers but had no result yet for legal difficulties in regard to death sentence. The matter further complicated after the hasty execution as scapegoats of the five kept detained for nearly 14 years in the prison in Dhaka.

The subject and intention is credible, because as determined she had been for decades to quench her thirst for blood that she partially had on the night of 27-28 January, now the other part she naturally wishes to quench. So far so is good for why should she keep her blood thirst unquenched as long as she holds the absolute sovereign power of Bangladesh, a fiefdom of her dynastic inheritance? But the crucial question remains unaddressed as to what about the blood of others surrounding her who had been 100% surely involved in the matter but not yet even been indicted. The1975 Army Chief General Safiullah had been one, and some others are still around her ‘guilty’ about the whole episode no matter by commission or omission.

On the early hours of the 15th August1975 morning being attacked by army men at the Dhanmondi residence, the Bangladesh President Sheikh Mujib as the Defense portfolio as well asked the Army Chief Safiullah to come with his full force and rescue him from the condition of siege. Safiullah amazingly advised the President to flee the residence through back door. That meant that he had neither courage nor possibly control on the troops to come to action to save the President, his topmost boss. Soon the President fell in unequal encounter there in his residence, the troops in making the mutiny won in minutes.

Safiullah then and then not only rushed to the Bangabhaban or President’s official residence with his other associates of the Air and Navy chiefs to show allegiance to the post coup government of Moustaque but also in private he had asked Col. Farook, the chief of the mutiny to take over as the President instead which Farook denied. That Farook got hanged along with four others that black night of 27-28 January and Safiullah and the co actor others remained out of even any indictment as angels!

It is by now well known that the so-called ‘murder case’ had in all measure been grossly fraudulent driven by Hasina’s blood thirst (See BBC fame Serajur Rahman, Daily Nayadiganta, Dhaka, 24 March 2009) on the one hand and her total abuse of State sovereign power on the other. She surpassed the notorious Yazid of Muslim history (the term Yazid used by a Islamic senior Mufti recently) just like her father the Faraoh of Pre-historic Egypt (Soon after the 15th August 1975 change, the Speaker of the Parliament and acting president of Awami League Abdul Malek Ukil used the term FARAOH for fallen Mujib) drowned in the great river Nile.
What Bangladesh of 2010 as of today in terms of the Constitution, the State principles, policies, multi-party parliament, basic human rights involving personal freedom, liberty, etc all owe to the changes of the 15th August 1975, some directly and some indirectly, and yet some of the change agents had been adjudged by spineless judges, it’s pity, and executed despite worldwide condemnation, as simple killers!

Some senior lawyers in private have termed rightly the death verdict as mockery of justice, but would not say so in open for fascist threats to personal security. But how about voicing in loud that once the scapegoats hanged to death the other actors staying safe and sound around Hasina she must now, almost at no cost in cash, be indicted in the episode before the rest is brought back at still huge public expenditure from fugitive status abroad.
